It’s the end of Shocktober! We wrap up our favorite month of the year with a discussion about some of the leading women of horror cinema: Barbara Steele, Jamie Lee Curtis, and Linnea Quigley. What is a Scream Queen? Is it good? Bad? Awesome? We watched BLACK SUNDAY, TERROR TRAIN, and NIGHTMARE SISTERS to find the answers.

On this week’s Patreon episode, we watched the infamous I SPIT ON YOUR GRAVE (1978)

While being burnt at the stake, the witch Asa Vajda vows to enact revenge on her descendents. Hundreds of years later Asa returns to life and immediately raises her henchmen from the dead, ready to keep her promise.

During a hazing, a fraternity of pre-med students has a particularly sinister prank in store for one their more timid pledges (Derek MacKinnon). With the help of a coed, Alana Maxwell (Jamie Lee Curtis), they pull off the prank so well that the pledge needs to be institutionalized as a result. After several years pass and people forget the incident, those involved with the prank are ready to celebrate their graduation by having a costume party on a train, but they haven’t escaped their past yet.

Buck-toothed Melody, bespectacled Marci, and chubby Mickey are socially awkward sorority sisters. Desperate for some fun, they invite a trio of equally nerdy fraternity pledges over for a party. The party fizzles and the guys are on the verge of leaving when the girls try to liven things up by holding a séance. The crystal ball they use at the séance is cursed and causes the girls to become possessed by a succubus.
